Ringing in 2026!
🎉 Welcome to 2026 — A Secure, Purpose-Driven Year Ahead
As the clock struck midnight and we welcomed another year of innovation and progress, Kemi and I want to extend our warmest wishes to our clients, partners, and the cybersecurity community. 2025 was a year of both rapid technological advancements and increasingly sophisticated threats. From new exploit techniques to evolving privacy challenges, we saw just how essential strong security and ethical responsibility are in our advancing tech world. That shared reality fuels our mission at PopCykol — to protect people, data, and systems while always keeping the human impact of technology front of mind.
🌟 Looking Forward: Purpose, Protection, and Awareness
There’s more to online safety than network safety and scams. Modern internet defense is about human trust, safety, and empowerment. With that in mind, we’re excited to highlight two important awareness initiatives occurring right at the start of the year:
💙 National Human Trafficking Awareness Day — January 11, 2026
On January 11, communities across the country observe National Human Trafficking Awareness Day. It’s a day dedicated to shining a light on the global crisis of human trafficking and modern slavery. Awareness and education are critical tools in identifying and preventing exploitation, and every voice matters. By recognizing this day, we remind ourselves that technology and digital platforms can both facilitate exploitation and be powerful tools in combating it. Awareness isn’t just compassionate, it’s essential. (National Today)
At PopCykol, we believe in responsible technology, ethical practices, and using our expertise to make the world safer for everyone, not just our precious, curious kids.
🔐 Data Privacy Week — January 24 – 28, 2026
From January 24 – 28, we join the National Cybersecurity Alliance’s Data Privacy Week, an initiative encouraging individuals and organizations to take control of their personal data and respect privacy across digital ecosystems. Data Privacy Week offers practical guidance on safeguarding data, understanding personal information usage, and building trust with customers and users through transparency and strong protection practices. (National Today)
We will be sharing data privacy tips with you along the way. These are meant to strengthen your online presence for your children, family, school, or business.
🔍 What This Means for You
